Baie des Singes, Marseille, France
The Baie des Singes is at the “end of the world” in the Calanques of Marseille. In the past, this region was a secret hiding place for smugglers. The origin of the name Baie des Singes, or Bay of Monkeys, comes from the story that the children of the area were told “to be as speechless as monkeys” and never disclose the secrets. Here, there is only the sounds of the waves and the wind.
